The Voice of Loneliness

Many a times I see Christians falling into depression or losing heart because of loneliness or because of a great trauma they could not overcome.
These days and times, medical research has evolved to bring about pills to overcome depression. One pill can make them forget their loneliness. Many run towards this but alas, this is only a temporary physical solution for you.

The loneliness in the heart is irreplaceable. The only remedy that is life changing, permanent and eternal is Jesus Christ. To overcome this difficult time, is of course to praise and worship Abba Father and to have fellowship with Him.

I have meditated and thought about the life of Jesus, the first example that came to me, but again, many would say He is God and therefore he overcame loneliness.

They fail to realize that Jesus had the most heartache as He left a throne to meet a cross. He became flesh and blood. In the book of John it states He is one with the Father; that itself is a great relationship that the human mind cannot fathom or understand. It is even impossible to imagine what kind of a relationship that is. Was it possible for us to attain this “special relationship”? To be one with the Father just as Jesus was one with Him?

I believe it is possible.

Let us now then, consider “A voice of one calling in the desert. Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”

What about John the Baptist? He too became such a stranger that everyone who dared to come closer to him, he had but one thing to say, “Repent and be baptized.” Do you think his life was full of family and friends?

Let us consider the life of Joseph for the many years he spent at Potiphar’s house not to forget the years he spent in prison too. He sought after a God that no one else knew in that land. Is it possible to be focused on that one God in that time of being deserted by one and all?

Was there ever a temptation for him to fall away and worship other gods so that he too can feel like he “belonged “with the Egyptian community?

Yet, he didn’t – he chose to be alone in his walk until God opened the door for him to have a family of his own and until he reunited with his father. What a journey he had.

Do you feel lonely today?
Do you feel lost and hopeless?

Open the pages of the bible and through the Holy Spirit let these lives of godly men and women be an example. Set aside that ache and break that hold of Satan today. Discern and take courage.
